Improving My Balance of School and Athletics here at PSU

           When I decided to come to PSU, there was more incentive than just a great Agriculture and Extension Education program. I was a pretty successful high school wrestler and was trying to figure out where I wanted to go that could support both my academic and athletic preferences. Once I realized I would love to come to PSU, the coaches reached out to me and I came to campus and fell in love with both programs. I knew it would be difficult but was willing to put the work in to reap the rewards of my actions.     Penn State Wrestling is an extremely accomplished program, winning 11 national titles since head coach Cael Sanderson took over in 2008. This year was the first national championship team that I was a part of, and it was an absolute blessing I had a great time with my teammates all year long. My Student Teaching Site Visit

      My visit that I took to Central Columbia was certainly the one that left the biggest impact on me after I walked out of the doors. I tend to reflect a lot on my experiences that I take part in, and for some reason this one stuck out to me, not only because it seemed like a prefect fit for me, but it was something about the educational space and this odd charisma that the people in the program created. Mr. Doug Brown, their ag instructor, introduced me to a lot of different people in a short 3-4 hour time span, and to be completely honest, a lot of them I will hardly recall, just because the overabundance of folks that the school district has to support the agriculture program.     On top of this, I got to see the students engaged and actively participating in making their final preparation for local competition later in the week, and these students seemed to have the right amount of guidance, yet their own responsibilities of holding one another accountabl...
